WHAT DOES HIMALAYA SUBBODY GIVE YOU?
Subbody Butoh training
The Subbody Method of Butoh is a Hijikata-inspired method for connecting to our deep creator within (our subbody or subconscious body) via various methods. The method is integrated into Hijikata's Butoh-fu (butoh-notation). The guiding method is unlike any other, encouraging group research (co-research) and a less hierarchical form of passing along information.
Enrolled students with unlimited access to the space
Enrolled Subbody students are granted access to all extracurricular workshops outside of Subbody training (per optional donation) as well as access to the space at any off-hours for personal research and relaxation.
Beautiful space overlooking the Himalayas
14 years ago, Rhizome Lee specifically sought a power location to provoke deep creation within. That location was in Mcleod Ganj, India. The school overlooks the Himalayan mountains, has two wooden dance floors, an amphitheater, and a great many spaces outside to explore.
Community Open Mic & Butoh/dance Jam
Beginning 2019, the facility will host Saturday open mic nights (for singer-songwriters or any kind of performance) and Sunday 7 PM Butoh/dance jams. By donation.
Local & outside community art exhibition
Beginning 2019, the large Resonance studio space (third floor) will also be used as an art gallery/exhibition space. If you are an artist, and want to have your art displayed, contact us for an interview.
Local and outside community workshop
The space during off-hours or when empty can also be used for creative outside workshops such as unique dance forms, acting methods, drawing/painting, and/or wellness.
